Dublin, January 29th, 2007: Sun Microsystems Inc, (NASDAQ: SUNW), the creator of Solaris ™, today announced the appointment of Declan Carr as Sales Manager for Ireland. Declan will be responsible for driving Sun's business in Ireland. Declan joined Sun in 2005 as part of the StorageTek acquisition where he worked in its Data Management group. Prior to the acquisition Declan worked for StorageTek as channel manager in its Irish subsidiary and was appointed a director of StorageTek Ireland Limited in 2002. Prior to joining StorageTek, Carr worked with AIB for 23 years with responsibility for its storage environment. Declan holds a Bachelor of Financial Services from UCD, a C Dip AF from ACCA and an Advanced Computer Programming from Trinity College.
